About Charles

I am a professional educator of math. For 37 years I have been employed as a public education math teacher and more. I have 3 degrees; a Bachelor's in Mathematics, a Graduate Secondary Math Teaching Credential, and a Master's in Education. I have extensive training in teaching, how students learn, ways to learn, and ways to illustrate their learning. The enjoyment I get from helping students learn math has been with me all 36 years and has not left.

About the lesson

Over the 37 years of teaching middle school, junior high school, high school, and junior college I have taught remedial courses through calculus. I have continually been given and asked for the students and/or courses that others could not instruct. My greatest attribute is being able to help students gain access to learning and understanding mathematics when they have not in their past.
This happens each time we meet with making the human connection, our greeting to each other, brief, sincere and short. Taking inventory of your knowledge of current topics of instructions through a non-threating manner; warm-up, revisiting prior work assessment, discussions and more. What sets me apart from others is my experience, effort, enthusiasm, knowledge of levels of math and their learners while helping you see ways to view and learn math, that are for you. During our session you will see the alternate ways of looking at a problem or math concept, go through different problem solving strategies using all types of resources and closing with a review of what we did together and maybe look forward to next time.

Charlie is an excellent teacher. He is very lively and relatable to students. He makes math fun and exciting and uses relatable real life examples that help students apply to real life situations.
