About Michelle
"Rapid feedback loops define my teaching style and prevent bad habits from taking hold. Weekly practice problems on coding platforms serve as our primary diagnostic tool for assessing your progress. These sessions require high focus, but I maintain a relaxed rhythm to keep the atmosphere productive.
My background in fintech informs how we prioritize specific tasks during our meetings. I hold a BSc/BEcon from the University of Melbourne which allows me to integrate quantitative thinking into our project-based learning. We spend time on syntax, but we spend more time on structural design.
Seeing a student finally fix a persistent bug after 3 sessions of troubleshooting is genuinely satisfying. Programming is a language, and learning to speak it fluently is a rewarding pursuit."

"Coding started for me on a dusty terminal in a dark corner of a computer lab during university. That initial curiosity pushed me toward a BSc/BEcon from the University of Melbourne and eventually 13 years in the fintech sector. I found that real world problem solving is the best way to keep your skills sharp and current. You might be a student struggling with fundamentals or a hobbyist building a web project from scratch.
I rely on 12 years of experience to break down Java, object oriented programming, and web development into manageable chunks. HTML and CSS are only the start of what we cover in our time together. My approach remains grounded in the clean code practices I used while working in Sydney finance.
Debugging techniques often reveal more about a student's logic than the actual code they write. I find that simplifying complex C++ concepts into plain English is the most effective way to communicate. Connecting software theory to practical financial applications keeps the work relevant and interesting."
