About Nannette
Teaching provides a way to pass on the craft I refined while spending 12 years playing in Nashville and Austin venues. My work centers on the reality that music is a performance art requiring technical proficiency in power chords, reading sheet music, lead guitar, reading tabs, improvisation and soloing. Connecting with beginners and intermediate players helps me bridge the gap between simple practice and actual song performance. I am here to ensure you walk away with the ability to play your favorite tracks at a party or finish your own EP.

"Focusing on isolated techniques often slows down a student who wants to play full songs. True growth happens when we treat guitar and vocals as one inseparable instrument rather than studying static parts in a vacuum.
Learning is most effective when you play through the song from start to finish instead of stalling on individual exercises. We will integrate your lead guitar work and rhythm playing into a coherent piece of music during our time together.
Using an 8.0 difficulty scale helps us track your progress toward your specific goals. You will find that playing for 9 minutes is worth more than hours of mindless drills. Keeping the momentum high allows us to cover more ground."
