About Bette
Many people assume that playing piano is only about the fingers moving across the ivory. Real music starts in the mind and flows through the body with intentionality.
Having taught 129 students, I have seen how memorization techniques and pop and contemporary styles connect them to the instrument. My Bachelor of Music provides a foundation for teaching scales, arpeggios, and chord voicing. I integrate sight playing into our work regularly. It is a long process.

Fluency arrives the moment your hands move independently of your conscious thought. You will find yourself playing complex patterns while we explore rhythm and texture together. I bring 11 years of experience from Berklee to ensure our time is spent wisely. Weekly practice modules assigned with every class provide the structure you need between meetings.
We look at specific chord voicing to help your arrangements sound full. I provide clear pathways for your development. You will find my teaching style to be quite steady and supportive during these sessions. We keep the atmosphere light while focusing on the music.
