About Hollis
"Because I have spent 13 years playing in 5 bands and releasing 5 records, I understand exactly how music works in the real world. My time at Belmont University earning a Bachelor of Music in Industry helped me frame these experiences into clear instruction for students who want to move past simple playing. You will find that my approach prioritizes ear training and the mechanics of barre chords to ensure you actually understand the instrument.
I really enjoy teaching students who are ready to get serious about their craft. If you want to explore the nuances of scales and modes while building a foundation of power chords, I am here to help you get started."

"Since you want to get better at your instrument, we look at the primary sources of rock history to see how the greats built their sound. We will spend our time deconstructing Jimi Hendrix solos and analyzing how specific tone problems are solved in a live touring environment.
You will leave with a monthly recorded review of your progress so you can track how your lead guitar technique evolves over time. Reading tabs is just the beginning of how we approach these sessions. We focus on songwriting shortcuts that help you express your own ideas effectively. Whether you are stuck on improvisation or just want to refine your sound, feel free to reach out."
