About Kyla
Ink stains on a coffee shop napkin started this path for me long ago. I spent 13 years refining how to place the right word against the right note.
Having taught 300 students, I see how lyrics and storytelling build a life of their own. I focus on prosody and perspective to make sure your songs hit home.
My work uses harmony basics to ground your melodies. Whether you need help with co-writing or sharpening your point of view, I am here to help. It is quite rewarding to see a song come together from nothing. I hope to help you find your unique voice soon.

Real session-style workflow defines the time we spend working on your music together. This is where your rough ideas find their final shape. I guide teens, gigging musicians, and absolute beginners through the actual process of crafting a song from scratch. My background from the USC Thornton School of Music informs how I structure our time.
We treat these sessions like a pro studio environment. It is great to see the moment you finally find the missing piece of your lyrics.
