About Paige

Paige Sommerer was born in Kansas City. Growing up in the landlocked suburbs of Overland Park, Paige spent 10 years swimming competitively with Brookridge Country Club, The Kansas City Blazers, Captain of the Shawnee Mission South High School Varsity Team (Kansas State Swimming Championships Qualifier), KC Master’s Swimming and canoeing Missouri’s rivers with family.

When she later landed at the University of Missouri, Paige established the Mizzou Swim Club in 2008 as the Social Chair. Paige received her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Theatre and was recognized by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival for playwriting. In college, she performed as the lead in the MU Department of Theatre’s academic season and summer repertory musicals and plays. She was crowned Miss Columbia, Missouri 2009 of the Miss America Organization.

After graduation, Paige lived in New York City for a decade, performing Off Broadway (Spandex the Musical), at Tony Award Winning Theatres (Paper Mill Playhouse & Goodspeed Musicals) and on ABC (Time After Time). To supplement her career in the performing arts, Paige taught swimming at Marlene Meyerson JCC of Manhattan while providing child care to prominent families on the Upper West Side.

In 2021, Paige moved to Los Angeles and while spearheading Synthswim, she was an Acceleration Specialist Educator at Santa Monica Boulevard Community Charter School teaching English Language Arts grades K-6th for two years. Creatively, she has lead films with Lifeboat Productions (Sis) starring Mo Collins and Ciara Bravo, premiering at the Oscar / BAFTA Qualifying 20th Annual HollyShorts Film Festival 2024 and Geena Davis’s 10th Annual Bentonville Film Festival 2024 as well as UCLA’s Film Department (Generally Educated Dora), premiering at the San Diego International Children’s Museum as part of Comic Con.

Currently, Paige lives in Hollywood. When she is not swimming or singing, she enjoys hiking to Audible, exploring LA’s finest bakeries and delis, seeing live performance and writing screenplays at sunrise!

About the lesson

Coach Paige specializes in Private, Semi-Private and Parent & Me lessons from children ages 6 months to adults, novice to elite, and is committed to a holistic method of being one with water. With up to 60% of the human body being composed of water and our skin being 0.05mm thick, our limited perspective presents an illusion of separation from the aquatic world around us. Through the mind, body, breath connection we learn to trust ourselves by exploring the wisdom of the water and the ancient art of swimming. Home to us since the womb, swimming is intuitive and Coach Paige helps students remember their innate connection, wonder, and ability with water. Every lesson invites fluid and natural development for each student, championing safety, technique and love of swimming for life. She combines confidence, creativity and curiosity to celebrate synthesized swimmers. Coach Paige has taught thousands of children to swim over her 15+ years as a swim instructor, 10+ years a competitive swimmer and 2+ years as an elementary educator. All of her students have learned to swim. In 2021, she founded Synthswim, a learn-to-swim school. Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguarding, CPR, AED and First Aid certified. Happy swimming!

Who?
We offer swim lessons from children to adult, novice to elite. Beginning with Parent & Me Lessons for ages 6 months to 3 years, Private Lessons for ages 3 years and up and Semi-Private Lessons for ages 4 years and up, and Adult Lessons.

What?
Parent & Me Lessons are weekly recurring 30 minute lessons for ages 6 months to 3 years. Lessons are either private with one swimmer, their adult and an instructor in the water or small groups with a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 6 swimmers. All Parent & Me swimmers must be accompanied by their adult in the water.

Private Lessons are weekly recurring 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons for ages 3 years and up. Lessons are 1:1 with one swimmer and an instructor in the water.

Semi-Private Lessons are weekly recurring 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons for ages 4 years and up. Lessons are with a maximum of 2 swimmers and an instructor in the water.

Adult Lessons are weekly recurring 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons for ages 18 years and up. Lessons are 1:1 with one swimmer and an instructor in the water or with a maximum of 2 swimmers and an instructor in the water.

We only offer 5-Packs at this time. Commitment and consistency is key. We want to insure your preferred weekly recurring time slot. A trial is available per request before booking a 5-Pack. However, we can’t guarantee your preferred lesson spot will be available when you go to book your 5-Pack. Once payment is received, it’s yours!

Please note, our 5-Pack expires in 6 weeks, allowing for 1 advanced or emergency absence. Lessons canceled in less than 24 hours will be charged in full. We do not offer refunds and we do not offer makeups during our busy season May through September.

A 15 minute scheduled courtesy call is offered prior to the first lesson to discuss your child’s swim history, goals, and questions.
