About Karin
I realize the value of meeting each child's unique needs. As a student, I was considered to be a reluctant, struggling learner myself. One of my teachers believed in me and told me that I could do it, as she coached me in the art of positive self talk. This teacher inspired me to become a teacher, mentor and coach.

I believe that every child can learn, provided their learning styles are met. I strive to incorporate engaging hands on lessons, with experiments and include real-world applications.
My lesson plans include engaging students in activating and/or building up prior knowledge, brainstorming to make connections, teaching new vocabulary and introducing the content. The format is typically: I do, we do, you do, to scaffold their learning.
My goal is to build relationships with my students. I gauge each child in order to meet their needs. I try to keep learning exciting, I use quizizz and Nearpod to assess learning.
