About Dennis
I have over 21 years of teaching experience at the college level. I have taught classes in architectural design, drawing, color theory, 2D design and 3D design. I have exhibited my work in over seventy shows locally, nationally, and internationally. I strive to establish an individualized, spirited pursuit of creativity, curiosity, and exploration with my students in the genre of abstract painting. I can also assist each student with preparing a professional portfolio required by many college art school applications. I look forward to working with you. I teach abstract painting using acrylics and mixed medium techniques that mirror my own studio practice as an abstract painter. Painting, in its essence, encompasses all of human expression driven by an inherent yearning. This yearning flourishes in the relationship between image and object, where art transcends mere representation and delves into the realms of myth and the natural world. Painting should reflect such longing in its embrace of beauty, however impermanent. In this way we may find our authentic selves.
