About Avery
Hi! My name is Avery, and I’m currently a high school student in New York. Volleyball is one of my greatest hobbies and it’s a sport I truly fell in love with. Last year, I was the captain of my Junior Varsity team at my school, and I got the opportunity to help others around me to improve and excel in the sport as well. With my support and a bit of time, you’ll understand this awesome sport and how to play! I hope my lessons let me share my love of volleyball with you.

So far, I have had about 3 years of experience playing volleyball. My lessons are typically directed towards younger children who may be new to volleyball but are interested in the sport or just want to try something new! With my lessons, you will learn: - Basic skills such as bumping, setting, spiking, serving - Basic rules of volleyball - Opportunities and programs in your area to support your volleyball career My teaching style typically consists of a presentation slideshow, with visual depictions of the topic. An explanation will be provided, and students will be encouraged to interact by answering questions and demonstrating certain actions as well. A typical lesson plan is, for example, focusing on serving. In this lesson, we will go over what serving is, where it is performed, the instruction to serve, and the different variations of serves. Students would be shown a directory video on how to serve, and I would demonstrate as well. Questions are welcome anytime, and students will also be prompted with questions to ensure they understand the material fully. Each lesson will begin with a recap of the previous lesson.

I’m a former teammate of Avery’s from Junior Varsity. Avery was our captain and she helped me to become more confident in my skills!! She taught me how to serve with more power and really drove me to be the best that I could. Avery gives really good advice and I’m sure her lessons will be great to start out with volleyball!! Definitely great for beginners or for students that are confused and need help with a specific skill.
