  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Psychology became a lifeline for me before it became a subject. I have always been introspective and sensitive, but as a person with ADHD, I often struggled with attention, restlessness, and emotional overwhelm-challenges that I later understood were signs of ADHD. When I entered corporate life, these struggles amplified. I felt out of place in rigid systems that didn't support neurodivergence. That's when I turned to psychology not just as a subject to study, but as a way to survive, heal, and eventually thrive.
The more I understood the mind, mine and others', the more empowered I felt. It became clear that psychology wasn't just for textbooks or therapists, it was essential life knowledge. I started reading, training, and eventually teaching, with the goal of helping others navigate their inner worlds too.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

I teach because I've personally experienced how powerful knowledge of the mind can be. I've faced self-doubt, disorganization, and the emotional toll of trying to "fit in" to systems that weren't designed for minds like mine. When I teach, especially students who feel different, distracted, or discouraged, I can offer not just tools but real empathy.
I want to normalize different kinds of intelligence and show students that you don't have to be perfect to be passionate. I teach to give people the psychological literacy I wish I had earlier in life.
  • How does your work help society?

Psychology is not just for students or professionals, it's for every human being. My work helps people make sense of their emotions, reactions, relationships, and life patterns. For neurodivergent individuals especially, I aim to provide a space where they feel seen and understood.
By teaching psychology in a relatable, simplified way, I help dismantle stigma and replace it with insight and compassion. My work encourages mental health awareness, emotional resilience, and more informed decision-making-all of which benefit society at large.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

My role models aren't only the well-known psychologists, but also the silent warriors-people who struggle silently with mental health, neurodivergence, or emotional pain, and still show up to life every day.
That said, I deeply admire Carl Rogers for his client-centered approach and his belief that empathy and unconditional positive regard can transform people. His work reminds me to teach from a place of deep respect and human connection, not just intellect.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

I journal a lot. writing helps me process emotions and reflect on patterns. I also practice yoga and mindfulness, not just as routines but as grounding tools for focus and mental clarity. Music (especially Zayn Malik!) helps me regulate mood, and nature walks reset my nervous system when overstimulated.
I'm also creating content related to psychology, confidence, and emotional wellness. I love making videos or posts that simplify complex concepts for young learners or anyone who is curious about their mind.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

Yes, many. One moment I'll never forget is when a student told me she had always felt "too emotional" and "too sensitive" to study psychology seriously, but after our classes, she started seeing her sensitivity as a strength.. That really moved me.
Also, in my own journey, leaving corporate life was terrifying. I feared failure, judgment, and instability. But as soon as I started teaching psychology, I felt a sense of meaning and alignment I'd never felt in the corporate world. That shift gave me not just a career path but a personal mission.
