About Edward

Since I was little, people have congratulated me on my skills with math and logic. Truth be told, I don't think I'm particularly talented at math, it's just always been something I found interesting. What I hope to inspire in you as my student is a similar interest in the material. If we can get there, I promise that alone will carry you to success. Being good at math opens doors - it helps you on standardized tests like the SAT, allows you to study science at a more intuitive level, and can even give you additional tools for creative work like music and art. Corny lines are sometimes condensed statements of truth - and the saying "Knowledge is Power" could not be more accurate. Help me help you empower yourself. You deserve it.

About the lesson

My lessons are oriented around making math less painful in order to bring out your inner mathematician. Chances are, you are actually much better at math than you realize. Over years of social conditioning, we develop negative emotions associated with math classes and homework that make doing math painstaking and tedious. I can't promise that math will ever be "fun", but we can at least make it suck a little less.

Working together, I will identify the areas of mathematics that you struggle the most with, and some of our lessons will not feature numbers as much as an emotional conversation that will help us understand the source of your difficulty. From there, we will practice together at a pace that works for you, using whatever curriculum and coursework you have as a guide. My objective is to not only improve your weak points, but provide you with the confidence and foundations you need to solve math problems you haven't seen or practiced before. Together, we will do our best to avoid memorizing steps, and instead investigate the language by which the physical universe is defined.

Who knows? By the end of our time together, you may even turn into a bit of a math nerd yourself.

He has a very holistic approach to teaching music production and does a great job of tailoring his lessons to the individual. There is a fine balance of theory and practical teachings that will help you progress quickly. In a short few weeks I already feel like I am listening to music with a more educated ear, and constantly thinking about how to refine my sound as a producer. There is a lot of content out there online for music production, but it can get overwhelming trying to wade through it all on your own. If you are considering Edward as a tutor I guarantee you will not regret it and expect to learn a lot about yourself while you are on the journey.
