About JADE

My profile is lighthearted, but I am a serious academic writing teacher. I taught at two Top 50 universities, including Univ. of MD at College Part and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) , a program for academically advanced kids in grades 6-12 from the U.S., India, China, Korea, and other countries). I was a Lecturer at Morgan State University (a renowned HBCU) and an adjunct professor at University of Maryland Global Campus (a pioneer in providing online education to adults). I focus on higher-order thinking and metacognition.

I decided to be a college professor during my sophomore year in college. I watched my professors in the classroom and when I met with them in their offices. I was dazzled by how smart they were and wanted to be like them. What could be better than working with students all day? I love it!

About the lesson

Bring the paper you need to write for class to our tutoring session. We will whip it into shape! I can teach you how to write claim statements or thesis statements, introductions and conclusions, and transitions. We will work on organization, sentence structure, and all things grammar. In other words, everything about writing that is hard. Together, we can work towards finishing your paper in one hour!

Hello my name is Hope and I’ve met Jade through Grade Potential and honestly keeping her as my tutor was the best decision I’ve ever made. And I would never let her leave my side due to the fact that I hate writing and I hate English. Ever since I was in high school and through my college years I’ve repeated English classes multiple times just so I could graduate and get my degree. But ironically I’ve recently wrote a book called “Fighting Demons: Giving hope to life” which is being published and I wouldn’t have done it without Jade.
