About David
David Supina is a resident of the Edmonton area who has several years of experience tutoring. He has a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and can think methodically or creatively and intuitively. He has a positive, energetic personality, loves to tell jokes and generally try to help his students feel better about their abilities. In his free time, he plays absurdly complex board games, practices piano, writes poetry and argues with his brother, who happens to be wrong about everything (or so David thinks). He has three cats, all of whom are very cute, named Monkey, Mew and Knuckles.

Writing is a uniquely personal activity. There are objective rules of grammar, but they are meant to be in service of clarity of expression, and the strictness by which we abide by them vary depending on the writing genre.
Primarily I wish to work with the student to clarify what their thoughts are, the many possible ways of expressing it, and looking for more effective ways to get to the same point.
My methodology is to start with the most obvious strengths and the most glaring weaknesses, and seek to improve those. We can consider other more minor points, but momentum gained from big improvements is often the motivation required to make the many more subtle improvements that can be made down the line.
I believe in maintaining a friendly relationship that encourages a personal relationship, but not to the point that clear demands are sacrificed.
