About West
Structure is the invisible hand that keeps a musician moving forward when motivation wanes. Truthfully, I often forget how daunting fretboard navigation looks to a newcomer until I see them struggle with their first chord transition. We use a free trial session to assess your current level and establish a clear roadmap for your goals.
I provide ear training and power chords instruction that respects your specific musical interests. You can expect a relaxed pace that values your growth over speed. Perhaps you might want to join me for a session to see how we align.

Music education should feel like a conversation rather than a rigid set of rules. I started my path by playing in local venues long before stepping into a classroom. My teaching covers everything from reading tabs and scales to the nuance of improvisation for intermediate and self-taught players. With 339 students taught, I have refined how to explain barre chords and rhythm guitar to keep kids and returning adults engaged.
My BMus from the University of Miami Frost provides the technical framework for the musical intuition I developed on the gig circuit. Sometimes the most complex solos are just simple patterns repeated with intent.
