About Lyla
Bolero and son cubano music defined my childhood in Mexico. I teach Spanish as a living language.
My experience spans 13 years of practice. I work with kids, intermediate learners, and people relocating for immigration.
Over 400 students have joined my classes to date. I appreciate the rhythm of a well-spoken sentence. These days, I enjoy sharing the heritage behind the words I teach.

Talking through the difference between Latin American and Castilian variants often brings the most joy to our time together. Honestly, I find that even simple everyday phrases require a bit of heart to sound right. Drawing on my Licenciatura en Música and BM from Berklee, I structure our practice around interview preparation, listening, and writing. We tackle DELE exam prep through steady, patient conversation.
I help beginners find their voice while assisting intermediate students with complex pronunciation challenges. My goal is to make our work together feel like a natural extension of your daily life.
You will find that our time is focused on practical fluency rather than dry repetition. We spend our energy on genuine communication, which makes the learning process quite rewarding. I look forward to hearing how you progress.
