About Ben

Ben is a Film Composer, Artist and a Classical/ Jazz Musician with over 6 years full time experience teaching all ages and abilities, from young pupils to advanced students. Ben studied at City University, London for his Master's degree in Composing for Moving Images and a Bachelor's degree in Music from Canterbury Christchurch University. As a composer Ben has written music for brands such as Land Rover, the UK Intelligence Services and has scored The Consultant Feature film which is available to watch on Amazon Prime. He currently has over 350,000 streams with his music on Spotify which he worked with the Northern Film Orchestra under his name Benjamin Cook which you can listen to on all major streaming platforms.

About the lesson

Beginners For beginners, all you need to do is bring yourself and not worry about anything else! Ben will explain the basics, work on some simple exercises in class, and set a simple task for next lesson. First Lesson Your first lesson will be an opportunity for you to get to know Ben, explain any areas where you are struggling, assess your goals and aspirations, and create a plan to help you achieve them. This will also give Ben an idea of your current ability and everything he needs to create lesson plans and an atmosphere that will ensure you progress as quickly as possible.  Classical musician wanting to learn Jazz? If you are a classical musician who would like to learn Jazz but not sure where to start? Then Ben is the perfect teacher for you. Ben was originally a Classical musician but developed his Jazz Piano so he now plays both. He can help you make the transition and develop your playing into improvisation, Jazz theory and confidence playing the piano without sheet music. Exams He mainly teaches from the ABRSM and Trinity syllabuses with an astounding pass rate. Genres Ben teaches Classical Piano, Jazz Piano, Pop Piano and Composition.
