About Ethan
Since we are starting out, I offer a free trial session to assess your current level and musical goals. It feels like we are just sitting on the porch talking shop about gear and tone. My 14 years of experience inform how I teach strumming patterns, barre chords, and complex blues progressions.
I use my Full Sail University background to explain music theory and ear training in plain terms. Grade exam candidates and teens often find my focus on electric technique and power chords refreshing.
I emphasize the tradition of Robert Johnson and Buddy Guy during our time together. We work through fingerpicking exercises that emphasize clarity and rhythm. Does this sound like the kind of tradition you want to explore?

Patient guidance defines my approach to the fretboard. I admit that I still get nervous before hitting the stage despite my history in 3 bands. My Certificate in Music Production and Guitar from Full Sail University grounds my ear. I have worked with over 100 students to date.
Learning chords is hard work. My style remains playful and hands-on for all learners.
I have released 2 records and toured the Bay Area. Technical skills require time to develop. I appreciate the struggle of a beginner. Playing music should be fun.
