About Lois
Refining a student starts with a diagnostic assessment before setting the practice plan. Is your current routine helping you clear grade exams like ABRSM or Trinity? I use my degree and 5 years of experience to identify exact technical gaps. We look at your bow arm and hand frames in real time.
Orchestral nuances often require us to play through specific excerpts together. Finding the right balance between strict discipline and creative expression is central to how I structure these 60 minute blocks.

Graduating from the UBC School of Music with a BMus in strings and voice changed my perspective. Standing in a quiet concert hall with a bow in hand remains my most grounded memory.
These 5 years of teaching have built upon 13 years of classical and folk performing across Canada. I bring precise focus to left hand agility and complex shifting positions. My approach relies on correcting posture and hold early.
I break down music theory for advanced learners. My sessions also cover intonation and vibrato for refined tone production. Kids and returning players benefit from my exacting standards.
