About Winifred
"Writing songs is often less about talent and more about the discipline of editing and rewriting. Most people assume that great lyrics arrive in a flash of lightning.
I started writing by tearing apart my own drafts to see how the joints moved. My 8 years of experience have shown me how storytelling in songs really functions.
I have worked with 157 students to sharpen their melodic phrasing and title and concept development. It is a process of constant iteration and clear decision making.
I help hobbyists and singer-songwriters find the core of their narrative. Career switchers and beginners often struggle with writing over chords until they see the structure. We look at melody writing as a way to clarify your intent.
I enjoy watching the pieces click together for my students. That is how the work gets done."
