About Marilyn
Spending 5 years teaching has shown me that local guitarists often struggle with basic gear upkeep. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Guitar principal.
Seeing students succeed after our 5 years of hard work is a real highlight. I have helped many teens and hobbyists get comfortable with their instruments. Managing tuning and maintenance is just as vital as playing the notes. My background involves working with grade exam candidates who want to refine their sound.
I often bring a portable amp to make setup faster for intermediate learners. You can expect me to show up ready to focus on your specific electric and acoustic technique. Learning is a process that involves both rhythm guitar and soloing skills. Improvisation requires a solid foundation in strumming patterns and fretboard knowledge.

Good rhythm starts with a clear plan. I conduct a diagnostic skills check before we build your lesson plan. This ensures we do not waste time on things you already handle well. We focus on the songs you actually care about while adding in classic tracks for variety.
