About Rhys
Music is my passion, leading me to achieve a Grade 8 Distinction in both trombone and piano.
I have extensive performance experience playing in ensembles like The National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and the Royal College of Music Junior Departments Symphony Orchestra, as well as performing in Cadogan Hall, RCM, RNCM, etc. These experiences have given me a deep, practical understanding of musicianship.
I want to teach because I love passing on the joy of music. Having recently navigated the grading system myself, I know how to make learning relatable, fun, and stress-free. My goal is to build student confidence and make lessons the absolute highlight of their week!

I’m 17 years old and I’m a passionate musician, specialising in trombone and piano, with an ABRSM Grade 8 in both
I teach all ages, beginner to intermediate levels (grades 1-6).
My lessons usually last 45 minutes. This is the sweet spot to keep the momentum high and minds fully engaged.
My teaching philosophy is simple: Music has to be fun! I ensure that we establish solid foundational techniques, music theory and sight-reading skills, while ditching the dry, boring drills. Instead, I try to make the lessons very interactive, fun and patient. I help my students build confidence (and a lifelong love of playing) by focusing on creative enjoyment and celebrating every milestone.
