I am a college graduate with a BS in Applied Mathematics and Statistics. I have been tutoring math to all ages and levels privately for 5 years. I have also worked with students with autism and helped them to improve their math skills and confidence.

During each lesson I make sure to go over the assigned homework assignment, as well as spend time of reviewing the basics of whatever each student might need. Having a solid foundation makes learning the more complicated things much easier, so I like to spend some time drilling those in. I also like to make the lessons fun in some way, even if it is an older student. So often I will make real life examples, and make sure to take small breaks so that the student doesn't get overwhelmed.

If I have to travel to NYC the fee would include the $15 George Washington Bridge toll. So the final cost per hour in NYC would be $40 ($20 normal hourly fee + $15 GWB bridge fee to NYC + $5 normal travel fee).
