About Sarah
I have been playing guitar for 8 years and have been teaching beginners for the last 3. As a primarily self-taught musician, I have a unique insight into the challenges and frustrations that new players face, and I've developed many tips and tricks to overcome them. For two years, I was the rhythm guitarist and a songwriter for a local indie-rock band, performing at various venues. This experience taught me the joy of creating music, a passion I aim to share with all my students.

Ready to start your musical journey with the guitar? My lessons are structured to take you from a complete beginner to a confident player. We'll start with the absolute basics: the parts of the guitar, proper holding posture, and how to tune your instrument. From there, we'll learn essential open chords, practice smooth transitions between them, and master fundamental strumming patterns. I believe the best way to learn is by playing music you love, so we will quickly move on to learning simplified versions of your favorite songs. For those ready for the next step, we can explore fingerpicking, basic music theory, and how to read guitar tablature.
