About Shiela

Hello and welcome to my class!

I am a Licensed Professional Teacher with a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Social Studies, TESOL and TEYL certifications, and experience teaching both young learners and adults. I have worked as an ESL teacher and currently teach in a public secondary school. My teaching experience has helped me develop effective strategies to make learning engaging, supportive, and meaningful.

I believe that every student can learn and improve with the right guidance, encouragement, and practice. In my classes, I use student-centered teaching methods, interactive activities, practical conversations, and personalized feedback to help learners improve their speaking, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation.

I am patient, friendly, and passionate about helping students build confidence in communicating in English. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, so I create a comfortable environment where you can express yourself freely and learn from your mistakes without fear.

About the lesson

My Teaching Method and Approach

As a Licensed Professional Teacher with TESOL and TEYL certifications, I believe that learning a language should be fun, meaningful, and practical. My teaching approach is student-centered, interactive, and tailored to each learner’s needs, interests, and learning pace. I create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, asking questions, and making mistakes as part of the learning process.

I use conversations, role-playing, visual aids, games, storytelling, pronunciation drills, and real-life situations to help students improve their English communication skills. I focus on developing speaking, listening, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and confidence so that students can use English naturally in everyday conversations.

What Does a Typical Lesson Look Like?

My lessons follow a simple and engaging structure:

Warm-Up and Greetings – We begin with friendly conversations and simple questions to help you feel comfortable and ready to learn.

Lesson Introduction – I introduce the topic, explain key vocabulary, and present useful expressions related to your learning goals.

Guided Practice – We practice speaking, pronunciation, sentence construction, and grammar through interactive activities and examples.

Real-Life Conversation – You apply what you have learned through role-playing, storytelling, or everyday conversational situations.

Feedback and Review – I provide positive feedback, correct mistakes constructively, review important points, and suggest ways to improve before our next lesson.

Each lesson is adapted to your level and progress, ensuring that you have opportunities to practice, participate, and improve at your own pace.
