About Jeremy
I am broadly trained in the Humanities. I am a professional philosopher (Ph.D.) and have been teaching college courses for 17 years. I continue to teach philosophy courses online, but am now also pursuing other opportunities outside of traditional academia as well. I also hold an M.A. in Classical Studies, as well as a B.A. in History. My academic specialization is Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy, which each of these degrees contributes to. I am a published author and internationally recognized scholar. My primary area of research & academic presentations/publications focuses on Parmenides and Plato. However, I have also presented and published works on Kant's metaphysics, as well as philosophy in film and pop-culture (Ethics in Star Trek, Personal Identity in Back to the Future, etc.) I have designed and written my own course materials for Logic/Critical Thinking courses, as well as Ethics/Business Ethics courses. I am also familiar with many other standard textbooks and course designs typically used in philosophy and humanities courses.

Our lessons will be a team effort. I will create bespoke learning materials and presentations designed for your particular learning goals/course requirements, as well as your own learning needs and preferences. Your contribution will be to study the provided materials in advance, and actively engage in discussion and analysis during the tutoring session. We will work through the materials together, with engaging discussion and activities, to make sure you fully understand and even master the content you wish to learn. This will include both theoretical and real-life application of the content. Questions will always be welcome (in fact, often required for philosophical studies), and thinking through and discussing various possible answers and their pros/cons will be a central feature as well.

Jeremy was my PhD student. He's very bright, has an unusually broad knowledge of philosophy, and takes his teaching very seriously. He is also patient and good-natured, valuable traits for a teacher.
