About Stephen
My strongest quality is patience. I have twenty-eight years of experience. I hold certifications in Secondary English and Secondary English as a Second Language, as well as a TEFL degree. However, my greatest accomplishment is helping thousands of students master English fluency. I have taught Mexican and Latin American secondary students on the Texas border, international students at the university level, Native American students in an isolated village in Northern Alaska, and secondary Chinese students in Shanghai, China. But, I have always approached teaching with the same philosophy: to know the student, understand their needs and difficulties, and meet them at their level. I believe language learning occurs most effectively when the student is in a calm and relaxed environment, where they are free to make mistakes and learn from them, building their fluency in a step-by-step process while receiving encouragement and support throughout their journey of English mastery.

My dynamic lessons introduce you to American language and culture. I break down grammar step-by-step so you can master it. I know that English vocabulary and structure can be hard. That is why I offer patient and encouraging support. You will also learn how native speakers really talk. This includes contractions and idioms.
My learning environment is relaxed but challenging. Having worked with students from all over the world, especially Latin America and Asia, I am well-equipped to guide you to complete fluency.
