About Hyunan

I'm a native Korean speaker, born and raised in Korea, who moved to Canada to study and never left. This year marks 12 years of calling Toronto home. Since arriving, I've studied Fine Arts and Design, worked as a Product Designer in tech, and settled into life in Etobicoke with my husband and our 10-year-old cat, Mia.

Teaching Korean lets me combine two things I love: my language and culture, and helping people feel confident expressing themselves. Think of me as your friendly neighborhood Korean unni/noona! Approachable, patient, and genuinely invested in your progress.

My lessons are built around you — your goals, your pace, and the real reasons you want to speak Korean, whether that's chatting with family, prepping for a trip, handling business meetings, or just finally feeling confident enough to speak without freezing up.

Each session is relaxed and practical, focused on real-life conversation rather than textbook drilling, so you walk away actually able to use what you learned. I'll tailor materials to your level, mix in culture and context along the way, and make sure every lesson moves you closer to genuinely speaking Korean, not just studying it.
