About Elena

Hello! I'm Elena, a passionate and dedicated English tutor from Cape Town, South Africa, with a 250-hour TEFL/TESOL Diploma and two years of teaching experience.

My journey in education has included working with young learners and supporting students with different learning needs, which has helped me develop a patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style.

I believe that learning English is about much more than memorising grammar rules or vocabulary. It's about building confidence, expressing yourself, and feeling comfortable communicating in everyday situations.

My teaching philosophy is **"Progress, not perfection!"** I understand that every student learns differently, which is why I take the time to understand your goals and create lessons that are engaging, practical, and suited to your individual needs.

Whether you're a beginner taking your first steps in English or an advanced learner hoping to improve your fluency, pronunciation, or professional communication, I'm here to guide and encourage you.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading nonfiction, learning new skills, and exploring different cultures. I bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm into my lessons.

**My goal is not only to teach you English, but to help you develop the confidence to use it beyond the classroom.**

I look forward to being part of your English-learning journey!

About the lesson

My approach to teaching English is simple: **progress, not perfection!** I believe every student deserves a welcoming, supportive environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and growing in confidence.

As a 250-hour TEFL/TESOL-certified English teacher with 2 years of teaching experience, I create personalised lessons that focus on each student's individual goals, interests, and learning style.

**What can you expect from my lessons?**

My lessons are interactive, engaging, and practical. Depending on your needs, we can focus on conversational English, pronunciation, grammar, reading comprehension, listening, writing, Business English, or exam preparation.

A typical lesson begins with a friendly conversation or warm-up activity, followed by structured learning, practical exercises, and opportunities to use English in real-life situations. I provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and helpful resources to support your progress.

**Who are my lessons for?**

I welcome children, teenagers, and adults, from complete beginners (A1) to advanced English learners (C2). Whether you're learning English for school, work, travel, or simply to feel more confident speaking, I'll adapt our lessons to suit you.

I am proficient in English and Bulgarian, and I encourage students to build confidence communicating in English throughout our lessons.

**My teaching philosophy?** Be yourself, stay curious, and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Learning English should be something you look forward to, not something you fear!
