About Josh
I have over 2 years of tutoring experience, helping students develop their confidence and understanding in French and Latin.
As a Linguistics student at the University of Cambridge, I have a strong understanding of how languages work and how grammatical concepts fit together. This allows me to break down difficult grammar into clear, comprehensible explanations, particularly for students who may otherwise find grammatical rules confusing or difficult to remember.
My aim is not just to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand why the answer is right, giving them the skills and confidence to independently tackle similar problems.

I take a patient, flexible approach to tutoring, working to understand why students are finding something difficult rather than just giving them the answers.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, with the pace and content tailored to each student. My speciality is language skills and grammar but sessions can focus on translation, comprehension grammar, essay writing or exam technique.
I have experience studying French and Latin to A-Level standard, attaining an A* in French and A in Latin and currently read linguistics at the University of Cambridge.
