About Elle

At Jones Tutoring, each student is taught not only to accomplish short term learning goals, but also to hone their skills for future goals. Elle Jones has a Bachelor's in Psychology from Indiana University with a minor in Gender Studies and Human Development & Family Studies. She then went on to receive a Master's Degree in Social Work from Indiana University. She found success throughout high school, college, and her professional career with thorough study skills and a practiced ability to manage time effectively. Independent tutoring is a meaningful way to pass these well-honed skills to others who may need them. With experience in writing, psychology, social sciences, grammar, and several other liberal art subjects, Elle can assist students with everything from advanced writing and social science subjects to soft skills like grammar and time management. Elle has been working with children and adolescents of all ages since 2015 and has experience leading educational groups in a high school setting. She has also provided educational assistance in an individual, therapeutic environment. Being a clinical social worker, Elle takes part in continuing education every year, keeping her study and learning skills sharp.

I love, love, love learning! I am so grateful for the experience to expand my education beyond high school and to be in a field that requires continuing education. I believe learning information benefits us in so many ways and it must be encouraged and that students should be able to find their own unique ways to make learning fun.

Bachelor's Degree - Psychology with minors in Gender Studies and Human Development & Family Studies

Master's Degree - Social Work

Education experience - Led an educational group 2015-2016 for high school students centered around human development, sex education, healthy relatioships, and community service.

Therapeutic experience - 2016-present work as a therapist with individual and family clients, providing education as needed for each client and completing clinical assessment and treatment plans

Continuing education - 20 hours each year of contiuning education for updates related to my field of expertise (psychology, social work)

About the lesson

I like to get to know students and what interests and motivates them. I always want to review strengths and areas of past successes as well as things that have been tried and did not work. I believe learning should be a collaborative and individualized process and do my best to meet students where they're at so they feel more relaxed and ready to make progress.
