About Sarah
I am a Senior at Emerson College studying Political Communication, so my tutoring specialty is in English and Writing. I have experience helping a special needs child transition to online coursework as a result of COVID-19. I have tutored this student in English, beginner's level Spanish, and Algebra. Together, we worked on reading comprehension, writing and math skills, and learning beginner's Spanish grammar rules. In addition to focus on academic work, I guided the student in the implementation of workload organization and time management skills.
Although I have limited tutoring experience, I have always been a passionate learner and would like to help other students achieve a positive learning experience. This is especially the case right now: as students are trying to adapt to remote or socially-distanced learning, some may struggle with this shift and get left behind. As a current student, I have also had to adapt my typical learning methods to this current climate and would love to help other students do the same.
As a Political Communication student at Emerson College, I have a lot of experience taking classes that focus on communication and writing. I love academic writing and am a passionate researcher writer. In addition, I entered the college as a part of the school's Theater and Performance major, so I have some experience in workshopping acting assignments, character study, and script analysis. In terms of Spanish, I took one college level Spanish course along with four years of high school Spanish.
