About Stefan

I am a fourth-year Cognitive Science and Linguistics student at Carleton University, specializing in a Neuroscience concentration. My academic background provides me with a deep understanding of language processing and biological brain functions, which I apply directly to my tutoring methods. Beyond my studies, I am a varsity athlete and have experience in professional brand representation, which has helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills. I am fluent in American Sign Language and am passionate about helping others master both the practical and theoretical aspects of the subjects I teach. I bring a disciplined, professional, and patient approach to every session to ensure my students achieve their full potential.

About the lesson

I offer a unique, multidisciplinary approach to tutoring by combining my fluency in American Sign Language with a deep academic background in Cognitive Science and Neuroscience. Whether you are looking to master basic ASL conversational skills or need assistance navigating complex topics like neurobiology, linguistics, or cognitive research, I provide tailored lessons designed for your specific goals. My experience in these fields allows me to explain not just how to sign, but how the brain processes language and information. I am dedicated to making challenging subjects approachable, engaging, and easy to understand for students of all levels.

Stefan is an awesome tutor who makes learning ASL feel natural and actually fun. I’ve known him for a while, and what I appreciate most is his patience. He’s great at breaking things down so you never feel overwhelmed.

One of the best things about his lessons is that he never makes you feel awkward. He actually encourages making mistakes as part of the process, which makes it much easier to stay confident while you're learning. If you’re looking for a tutor who really knows his stuff and creates a supportive environment, Stefan is definitely the one!
