About Michael

Hey there! I'm a Master's-qualified writer who specialises in academic English: essays, assignments, and the writing skills that lift your grades.

Plenty of students arrive unsure how to even start an essay and leave with a framework they can run themselves, so you're not dependent on a tutor forever.

I also come from a professional writing and creative background, so alongside the academic work I can help you sharpen your own voice.

English as a subject, English as a language, or creative writing, let's connect.

About the lesson

Lesson Times: 7-7:55pm, 8-8:55pm, 9-9:55pm (Sydney time)
Days Available: Tuesday-Friday
Free 30 minutes offered simply for us to get to know each other and for me to understand your needs. If you would like immediate tutoring you will need to schedule a 55 minute session.
Make a note of my availabilities and provide me with a time slot that suits you when you first contact me to avoid delays with your first lesson.
Lessons on Offer:

Essay Writing: Students who work through my essay framework consistently reach distinctions and high distinctions. My focus is on structure and clarity, helping you argue your thesis to the point that it's undeniable. This focus extends to any type of persuasive text you might need to produce such as a Speech or Article.

High School English: With a background in Communication, I'm here to help you tackle all aspects of English with confidence. Whether it's assignments, literature, or writing skills, I've got you covered.

English Language: As a certified TEFL instructor, I'm able to customise my approach to your needs and level, ensuring you get the support you need to succeed.

Creative Writing: I've been running screenwriting workshops for over 3 years and recently launched my own Screenwriting course. I love helping develop my students' unique voices alongside their mastery of writing.

My Expectations:

Basic proficiency with Google Docs: I will set up a Google Docs folder for our lessons before we start. You will need to be able to use Google Docs in order to send me anything that you would like to work on in addition to providing me with your homework.

Preparation: As we go through our lessons I will be taking the time outside of class to look through your work. I expect you to provide me with everything I need for the lesson ahead of time so that we can make the most of it.

Punctuality: I will be respectful of your time and give you my best during the lesson, with that said I expect the same in return. I am unable to offer any make up time due to lateness. With that said I do understand that life can get hectic, as such I am happy to offer full refunds for cancellations made over 24 hours in advance. Anything less than that and it is out of my hands as per Superprof's T&C's. This includes the initial free lesson I offer.

A polite and positive attitude: I understand that this is an online platform, but I expect the same courtesy you would give to someone in person.
