My approach to teaching begins and ends with respect for each student. I am both accepting and challenging. I find out the student's strengths and best ways of learning. I am, on the one hand, enormously flexible, with diverse methods at my disposal. On the other hand, I am traditional, setting direction, setting short and long term goals, and putting in the work to get there.
I have literally decades of experience teaching individuals and small groups of all ages in a variety of settings. Every student is capable of success and my job is to help them find that pathway. I challenge and support each individual toward their immediate and long term goals.
All tutoring will be online.
Students will be charged for missed scheduled lessons that were cancelled less than 6 hours before the time.

I have known Dawn all my life; we grew up together. She is intelligent, professional, and knowledgeable. But she is also compassionate and insightful and is someone I can talk with for hours. As a teacher, she has worked even with the most challenging students. I would highly recommend her as an academic English tutor.
I have known Dawn since our early days in graduate school. She is a gifted writer, and a brilliant and committed scholar. She has no difficulty working with students at all levels. She is the warmest, most patient teacher I have ever known.
