About John
I am a performer, writer, talent agent and teacher, who for over 20 years has been career advisor to The Stage, the world's oldest entertainment industry newspaper. In that time my greatest joy is to work with young performers and help them get started on their career journey. I give realistic, practical advice on getting the best from your talents, and keeping safe in showbusiness and on how to pursue your dreams while keeping your feet on the ground

With well over 30 years experience in the entertainment industry , John's weekly Careers Clinic column in The Stage Newspaper responds to queries on every aspect of working in entertainment in acting or backstage. His 1 to 1 clients have included lead performers from The RSC, National Theatre, as well as primetime TV/Film dramas on both sides of the Atlantic such as Jurassic World. In an encouraging 40 minute (age appropriate) session John will apply the same skills to help young actors from 9-21 explore career options, plan drama school applications
John has devised and presented career development workshops for up to 100 participants at for companies & events ranging from ArtsEd, LAMDA, Fourth Monkey Associated Studios and The Brits School to The Edinburgh Festival, Surving Actors, PERFORM/MOVE IT & Actors
