About Dipesh
Greetings,
My name is Dipesh Kumar Rohilla. I am an actor, writer, director and actor-trainer. I have been doing it for more than 6 years now. Below is my acting journey so far.
Dance Workshops
● Attended the Himalaya SubBody Butoh School in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh.
● Understood the craft of Butoh Dance (a Japanese Contemporary Dance Form).
● Learned the basic craft of Chhau (Folk) dance and contemporary dance.
Theatre Workshops
• Attended a residential text-based workshop ‘Working Classics’ by Studio Tamaasha Foundation under the guidance of Sunil Shanbag.
LTG Repertory
(May 2019 - March 2020)
● Worked as an actor in two theatre Productions.
Sukhmanch Theatre/ Actor and Actor-Trainer
(July 2017 - April 2020, Delhi)
● Performed in Stage productions namely,
○ Piyush Mishra’s "Gagan Damama Bajyo"
○ Bhisham Sahni’s "Kabira Khada Bazaar Mein"
○ Mahesh Dattani’s "Seven Steps Around The Fire"
○ Rajesh Kumar’s "Tafteesh"

● Scripted and performed plays based on stories by Saadat Hasan Manto, Ismat Chugati, Amrita Pritam, Mannu Bhandari, Harishankar Parsai, Satyajeet Ray, Krishna Chandar, Mamta Kaaliya, Manav Kaul, O. Henry & Anton Chekhov
● Scripted and performed Street Plays namely Dastak, Wajood, Paryavaran, Road Safety, Mental Health, Blood Donation, and Gender Equality at Breakthrough Foundation, Nutan International Theatre Festival – Jammu, Katha India, Mecon -Ranchi, Blood Connect, Humsafar Trust, National Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi and various colleges of Delhi University, schools, slums, villages & at other institutions of National and International repute.
● Improvised and scripted stories by different writers in the workshop.
Film Festivals
● Played the protagonist in the platinum prize winner short film “Chai” in the professional category of the IFP 50 Hours Filmmaking Challenge 2021.
Previous Work in Cinema
● Performed in Meghna Gulzar's directed film "Chhapaak".
● Played a primary character in Web Series “Shaher Lakhot” for Amazon PrimeonWorked in the film “Pooja Meri Jaan” produced by Maddock Films.
Assistant Director
● Assisted Aniket Jaiswal founder of Old Delhi Films on his short film “Bolo Pencil”
● Worked as Chief Assistant Director on an independent feature film “Soch” directed by German Based Director Ravi Gautam.
