About Asiyah
When I was exposed to aerodynamics in my 10th-grade physics class, I knew I found my passion. As I became more curious about the subject, I stumbled upon facts that completely changed my view on women and their careers in aviation. I learned from Women in Aviation International that as of 2017 women only made up 7% of pilots. The numbers were concerning and I wanted to do something about it. I then approached the Anythink Library with a proposal to teach an introductory class on the physics of flight. In particular, I wanted to be a role model for girls that were younger than me. Anythink Library happily agreed to make me an instructor last summer, and my journey into aerodynamics expanded. My mission was to foster a love of aviation and curiosity in young students and it allowed me to continue to develop my passion for aerodynamics.

Fear not! Hello, I am Asiyah and I help students take on a new approach in their studies through a hands-on learning experience. I am a student at Purdue University studying to be an Aeronautical Engineering. I was Valedictorian in high school and took more than 10AP classes. I have first-hand experience of the struggles that students face.
