About Ceren
Hi! I'm Ceren — pronounced Jer-Anne — and I'm an English Literature tutor from the sunny Mediterranean coast of Antalya, Turkey. Here's something I genuinely believe: literature is never just literature. When we read together, we're not just tracking plot points — we're asking why a character makes a choice that destroys them, what a story written two centuries ago says about the world right now, or how a single metaphor carries the weight of an entire political era. That kind of reading — layered, curious, alive — is what I'm here to teach. I graduated from Selçuk University in 2020 with a degree in English Language and Literature, and I've been tutoring ever since — working with teenagers preparing for IB and GCSE exams, and adults who picked up a novel they couldn't quite crack and wanted someone to think alongside. Both are exactly my kind of student. I'm also a certified yoga and mindfulness instructor, and that shapes my classroom more than you'd expect. My sessions are calm, focused, and completely judgment-free — especially if you have ADHD or AuDHD, feel anxious about writing, or have struggled in traditional settings. You'll always feel safe to think out loud, ask questions, and get it wrong before you get it right.

I don't arrive with a fixed script. Before we begin, I take time to understand where you are and where you want to go. When we work through literature, we go beyond the surface. We ask what a text is doing — how it draws on myth, psychology, history, or power to create meaning. That's what turns a student who summarizes into one who truly analyzes. I also have specific experience designing lessons for students with ADHD and AuDHD — structured and focused, but always working with how you think, never against it. The thing I hear most from new students? "I never thought I could actually be good at this." A few lessons in — that usually changes. Whether you have an IB exam in six weeks, a personal statement due next month, a homeschool path to follow, or you simply want to understand a novel more deeply — I'll meet you exactly where you are. What you'll get from our lessons: Lessons built around you — your goals shape every session, not a one-size-fits-all plan Real writing ability — not just a template, but arguments that sound like you: sharp, clear, and genuinely analytical Exam confidence — I know exactly what GCSE, IGCSE, IB, AP, and A-Level examiners reward, and I'll show you how to deliver it every time Deep reading skills — not just what a text says, but how it works and why it matters, skills that stay with you long after any exam A safe space — to think out loud, change your mind, and ask the questions you'd feel embarrassed to ask in class And if you're here purely because you love literature and ideas — you are so welcome. Some of my most exciting students have no exam coming. Just curiosity. Just a desire to go deeper. Book a trial lesson — let's figure out exactly what you need and build something great together.
