About Melissa
Hello Students! My name is Melissa. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English, a U.S. teacher certification, and ESL certification. I have been teaching English for many years in colleges, public schools, and also privately in Florida, Atlanta and Spain. I was a public school teacher in the U.S. for 8 years. I love traveling, learning about different cultures, and working with students from different parts of the world. I have 2 children ages 19 and 22. Currently, I teach at a language school. I also tutor students taking the TOEFL and teach English classes at the local library. I was an art teacher for several years too and I love the Arts! I teach students functional language for everyday conversation, grammar and writing, listening and pronunciation. Cambridge curriculum is used for grammar with supplemental activities added. I like to focus on listening and pronunciation. My lessons are typically content-based on a particular subject. But lessons are customized for my students. My students are both adults and young learners.
