About Sophia
"Your journey starts with a diagnostic skills check before we build your custom lesson plan. You will receive an assessment of your current playing level to identify exactly where to focus your energy. Because I have 13 years of experience and a Guildhall MMus background, I provide a high level of technical oversight for advanced learners and self-taught players.
We talk through your goals as teens or returning learners to ensure the material stays relevant to your interests. I often introduce blues progressions or specific lead guitar techniques to keep our sessions stimulating. While we might look at grade exam prep, I ensure the pace matches your personal progress. My experience as a performer means I appreciate the need for steady improvement over time.
It is a pleasure to help you find your sound on the fretboard. Happy practising from your local homeschool tutor."

"Teaching provides a rare chance to bridge technical rigour with creative expression. I value clear structure. My 13 years of experience include a rigorous MMus Voice degree from Guildhall that informs my broader musical pedagogy. I have performed as a classical vocalist across the UK for 7 years while maintaining my own instrumental practice.
My guitar instruction covers fingerpicking, electric technique, tuning, and maintenance. I also teach lead guitar, blues progressions, and ear training to help students grow. Many of my 194 students value this disciplined approach to their instrument."
