About Joshua

I am a passionate science tutor with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in helping students succeed. I graduated from AB Paterson College with a 98.6 ATAR, completing six years of high school on a 100% academic scholarship. I am currently studying an accelerated Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where I maintain a GPA of 7.0 and was awarded the Thompsons Excellence Scholarship.

Outside of academics, I enjoy listening to music, exploring other countries and have spent most of my life competing in sports.

Having recently completed high school, I understand how challenging subjects like Chemistry and Physics can feel, as well as the pressure ATAR external exams can apply on students. My goal is to make complex concepts easier to understand by explaining them clearly and working through problems step by step. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and developing the skills needed to perform well in their studies.

About the lesson

I offer Years 9–12 Chemistry and Physics tutoring aligned with the QCAA/QTAC curriculum. My goal is to help students build a strong understanding of core concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and gain confidence with exam-style questions.

I prefer in-person tutoring, as face-to-face sessions allow for clearer communication and more effective learning. I enjoy creating and explaining practice questions based on tutored concepts to develop students' abilities to solve more complex problems relating to their subject.

Perfect! oshua has been a really helpful tutor. He explains things clearly and makes difficult concepts feel much easier to understand.

He has mainly been helping me with Year 12 Chemistry, including topics like chemical equilibrium, naming conventions and plastics, but he has also helped me with other subjects when I’ve needed it, like Math Methods revision and assignment planning.

I really like that his lessons are structured but also flexible around what I need help with most at the time. He helps me work through harder concepts while also going back over the basics, which makes me feel more confident.

I feel like the tutoring is really helping me, and I would definitely recommend Joshua to other students.
