About Will
I am a passionate learner, with a BA in Cinema Studies from Oberlin College. As a part of my curriculum, I read classic and modernist literature, and began writing creatively, first with poems, then short stories, then screenplays. I also undertook pedagogy classes there, and have completed two graduate level writing pedagogy classes at Lesley University since then. My love of the English language runs deep, as books were my principal salvation while growing up in Alabama. The power of stories enveloped me like a shield then, and continues to do so to this very day. Sharing my passion for storytelling and stories is my mission. I don't rest until I've found a way to bring out that same passion in my students.

My lessons focus on the possibilities of language, whether to inspire, express, or inform. The joy of writing is taking the intangible and giving it color and shape.
Lesson plans include close readings, discussions of theme, vocabulary, and examinations of cadence, whether examining classic literature, drafting a short story, or outlining a persuasive essay for a standardized test such as the SAT, ACT, or PSAT.
Learning goals are tailored to the student, whether preparing for a test, looking to improve reading comprehension skills, or branching out into creative writing as a form of personal expression.
I most commonly tutor students in elementary, middle, and high school.
