About Alejandra

I have been giving one-on-one writing help to students ranging from High School to Junior College in academic essays, as well as creative writing. I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of California. I have tutored upwards of 15 students just in the last year. My student's have shown great improvement in grades and in their writing. My middle school students, who need help adjusting to multiple classes and the vigorous workload, have shown the most improvement after lessons in organization and time management, and have achieved 3.5-4.0 G.P.A.'s. My older students have shown improvement in reading analysis (rhetoric and literary); All A's so far. I have experience with SAT tutoring as well.

About the lesson

My method of teaching is strict, but adapted to the specific student. I expect all my students to be organized and to put forth their best effort. If I need to help them get organized, that is the first thing I will do before focusing on anything else. Most of my students are looking to improve their grades and 100% of the time that means not missing any assignments. The next thing I look at is making sure the student understands the material so they do well on tests and quizzes, as this likely accounts for 50% of their grade. Finally, when students are up to speed and on track, I focus on quality of work.
