About Kara
My name is Kara and I am a graduate of a Bachelor of education student with a major in secondary education. My teaching areas include History and Art but I am versed in teaching literacy skills, and essay writing.
I have in depth knowledge of the Queensland curriculum for both junior and senior High School.
I also have experience supporting students in literacy and numeracy skills in primary school.
I have a great passion for understanding the different ways young people learn. I don't believe in rote learning and base my teaching in student interests to help students connect with curriculum content.

My educational approach is based in a holistic view of the student with tutoring sessions tailored to the educational needs of the student.
Lessons range from 1-2 hours depending on client preference. can negotiate longer sessions for assessment support.
Lesson times: Monday- 9am-2pm, Tuesday 9am-2pm, Thursday, 4pm-9pm, Friday 4pm-9pm. Saturday- 9am-4pm, Sunday-9am-4pm.
Qualifications include: Bachelor of Education complete. 1 year tutoring at Domestic Violence Shelter. 1 year in private tutoring as a Support Worker for students with additional needs: ASD, ADHD etc. 3 terms in Relief work supporting a range of subjects and year levels.
Lessons are for students: age range 12-24, can support students with ASD and ADHD and other learning difficulties. As well as a range of learning levels. Can support students looking for help with assessments for university.
