About Jack
I am really passionate about English literature and film. I am a voracious reader and enjoy a plethora of genres, authors and directors. I get the feeling of being 'transported' into another realm when reading and watching good stories. Hopefully that enthusiasm can rub off! I like to think I am warm, funny and kind but also can be firm when required. I always treat my students with respect and dignity and will expect the same in return. I understand learning something you struggle with (or just aren't really interested in) can be stressful and even painful, but I am a very patient and non-judgmental teacher and peer. We will go at your pace not mine.

Empathetic, entertaining and simple, step by step, teaching style catered to different comprehension levels using the Feynman technique.
I start with introducing the subject/problem required, explaining with common and easily relatable examples and request the student 'teach' me what I've explained to them.
Using written and spoken exercises I will verify their abilities and comprehension.
Every lesson will begin with a quick recap of our previous lesson material to ensure long term retention.
Credentials/Experience:
- Currently enrolled in the Master of Economics at ANU
- BHSc (Psychology) - GPA of 6.5/7, with written commendations available from my heads of faculty at AUT testifying to my 'very high capability for academia' and excellence in results.
- I scored a 6 out of 7 in Higher Level English during the International Baccalaureate programme at Townsville Grammar School and earned a High Distinction in the 2012 writing competition.
