Hi, I'm Jen!
I have always believed that learning should be creative, engaging, and fun. My greatest reward is watching the wonder and excitement light up a child's face when they discover the power of their own mind. After spending years in educational publishing shaping learning materials behind the scenes, I returned to my true passion: working directly with children to help them overcome obstacles, find their voices, and thrive.

As a former certified K-12 Special Education teacher with a B.S. in Human Development from the University of Texas at Austin—and a mother of two wonderful humans—I bring a unique combination of classroom expertise, developmental science, and real-life parenting empathy to my coaching practice. This background means I don't just understand child psychology on paper; I deeply understand the day-to-day realities of supporting a child through unique challenges.

For children navigating unique medical profiles, chronic health challenges, or severe anxiety, traditional tutoring can feel exhausting and overwhelming. My approach prioritizes emotional safety, connection, and nervous system co-regulation. If the family wants to approach academics, we will do so at a slow pace and as the student can tolerate. There is zero pressure or expectation to touch academics, as that is not the primary focus of my coaching sessions. I use low-stakes, highly engaging digital activities, collaborative games, and flexible conversation frameworks to create an online space where your child feels completely safe to be themselves.

To maximize engagement, I utilize Zoom's built-in annotation tools. This allows students to color, draw, and place stamps directly on my screen—a high-engagement, multi-sensory method that children absolutely love.

Because medical and emotional bandwidth fluctuates, every session is fluid and deeply responsive to your child’s energy on that specific day:
• The Connection Check-In: A gentle, collaborative intake focused entirely on your child's immediate mood, utilizing fun visual check-ins, welcoming songs, or low-pressure trivia about their favorite hobbies.
• Low-Stakes Mind-Games: Engaging in creative digital puzzles, interactive storytelling games, or listening activities designed to stimulate the brain without the anxiety of a grade or a timer.
• Regulating Resets: Incorporating a quick, intentional breathing pause, movement break, or screen reset tailored to their physical comfort and physical needs (as many as needed)
• Collaborative Reflection & Wind-Down: Wrapping up with a fun drawing activity or a shared, low-stakes comprehension game that leaves your child smiling, validated, and feeling proud of their connection today.

I hold a B.S. in Human Development from the University of Texas at Austin and am a former certified K-12 Special Education teacher, and a mom myself.
