About Ying
Teaching feels natural when the focus remains on the core idea rather than just surface polish. I drifted into this work through a university help desk and never found a reason to leave. Helping people start from zero or find their way when stuck halfway is what I do best.
My training comes from my time at Berklee where I learned that the soul of a song matters more than the finish. I keep things chill and encouraging for everyone. I am a musician who prefers the grit of the studio over the perfection of the stage.

Getting lost in a wall of sound can be the most fun way to spend an hour. I build my sessions around ear training and songwriting alongside the technical side like reading sheet music and electric technique.
We work on power chords and lead guitar while keeping the strumming patterns tight. You get to balance the theory with the noisy stuff I love. I try to make sure we keep the signal path clear and the playing fun.
I prefer to keep the technical talk grounded in the gear you already own. My approach relies on keeping things steady so you do not feel overwhelmed by the complexity of the pedals. You will find that playing feels like a conversation rather than a rigid chore. I want to make sure your rig sounds exactly how you hear it in your head.
