About Lisa

Hello, and welcome! I am passionate about helping students achieve their language goals and am dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Born and raised in Paris, France, I have a deep understanding of French culture and language. I later moved to the US to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Biology, which has enriched my bilingual and bicultural perspective. With several years of experience in tutoring French to students of various levels, I have developed a proven track record of helping my students succeed.

In addition to my passion for teaching, I am an animal lover and enjoy scuba diving and water skiing. This fall, I will be starting veterinary school in Scotland, where I will continue to pursue my passion for animals and science.

Whether you are a high school student preparing for exams, a college student needing support with French courses, or an adult learner aiming to improve your language skills, I am here to help you succeed. Let's embark on this learning journey together and achieve your language goals with confidence.

About the lesson

My teaching method is highly personalized and student-centered. I begin by assessing each student's current level and learning style. Based on this assessment, I create customized lesson plans that cater to their individual needs. I incorporate a variety of techniques, including interactive exercises, real-life conversational practice, multimedia resources, and regular feedback sessions. My goal is to make learning engaging and effective, ensuring that students not only understand the material but also enjoy the learning process.

A typical lesson plan includes:

Warm-Up: Brief review of previous lessons to reinforce learning.
Introduction: Presentation of new vocabulary and grammar concepts.
Practice: Interactive activities such as dialogues, role-playing, and problem-solving exercises.
Application: Real-life scenarios where students can apply what they've learned.
Feedback: Constructive feedback on their performance and areas for improvement.
Homework: Assignments to practice and reinforce the day's lessons.

What sets me apart is my adaptability and commitment to each student's success. Having grown up in Paris and later pursuing higher education in the US, I bring a unique cultural perspective and a deep understanding of both French and English. My bilingual background allows me to explain complex concepts clearly and bridge cultural nuances. Additionally, my experience in tutoring students of various levels means I can tailor my approach to suit beginners as well as advanced learners.
