About LUCY

My name is Lucy, a Brazilian teacher with a Bachelor degree in Portuguese and English, and a 180h TEFL certificate. In Brazil, I have taught English and Portuguese for 14 years, for all levels and age groups. One to one and in the classroom.
I have also a 3-year French course. In order to improve my conversation, I went to Nice (France) where I stayed a week at France Langue Ecole.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is the communicative approach, combining with another methodology if I feel that my students need this combination, in order to complete the learning process. I give online lessons to 5 students, each of them has a different background and interests to learn English.
Their levels vary from beginners to upper-intermediate. I adapt the lessons to their interest and goals, considering their backgrounds, and knowledge.
My methodology is the communicative-approach, again if I know my student isn't doing well with this methodology, I always combine it with another one, in order to meet his requirement.
My characteristics are to be patient, supportive, and always using the student talk time, rather than teacher talk time.
I use an interactive grammar coursebook (Cambridge), which covers the 4 skills. The student can bring some articles from magazines or newspapers to add to our lessons so that we can have a conversation
about anything that interests him/her. Whatever their interests and goals are, I will be supporting them to enhance their 4 skills in order to help them to go to the next level.
